Women stage dharna at Ramnagar in Kendrapada distruct
Kendrapada: Many women and children staged a dharna in front of a licensed IMFL shop at the seaside Ramanagar village under Jamboo marine police station in Kendrapada district on Monday demanding its closure. The dharna was aimed at preventing men and children from getting addicted to alcohol, which, women said, led to a large chunk of their earnings going to waste. They also blocked the road for three hours at Ramanagar, affecting traffic. “Due to govt’s thirst for revenue and involvement of ruling party leaders in the liquor business, many innocent families are being ruined,” said Nalini Mandal of Ramanagar.
