Patna: Following Jamui and Samastipur, a case of alleged molestation and assault of a young girl has now surfaced in Mahuli village of Saran district. The young woman, filed an FIR at the Taraiya police station, naming four people. Following the FIR, police have begun investigating the matter.A 17-year-old girl alleged that she was stopped, assaulted and subjected to an attempted molestation while she was on her way to buy milk on Sept 21. Police have registered an FIR against three people, based on her complaint.According to the FIR, the girl was walking through a secluded area around 7pm when one youth allegedly caught hold of her arm and tried to drag her away. She alleged that two of his friends, both residents of Gangoi village, were also present.The girl’s mother alleged that the three men pushed her daughter towards an isolated spot and attempted to molest her. When she raised an alarm, the accused allegedly struck her on the head with a bracelet before the three fled from the spot. She also reported injuries in the incident.The girl further alleged that she later went to the accused’s mother, Saroj Devi, to complain about the incident. However, according to her FIR, she allegedly abused and assaulted her and drove her family away.SHO Satyam Kumar said two separate FIRs have been registered, one by the girl’s family and a counter FIR by the youth’s family. “The youth’s mother alleged that she was attacked by the girl’s family, when they came to her residence. We are investigating the matter and arresting will take place soon. All the accused, in alleged molestation and assault are absconding,” he told TOI on Friday.
