Hisar: A petrol pump owner in Hisar allegedly received a phone call demanding Rs 5 crore in ransom, but police said the call appeared to be fake.Police spokesperson Madan Lal said similar fake calls had been reported in Bikaner, Ellenabad, Jhajjar and Hisar on Tuesday, and added that the matter was being investigated. According to the preliminary information, the caller allegedly used the name of a criminal gang while making the call. After being informed, the Urban Estate SHO and a DSP reached the spot and spoke to the businessman about the incident.The businessman was reportedly shaken by the call, and did not speak to the media. Police deployed two personnel for his security as a precautionary measure. Some other local businessmen also said they were aware of the incident. Police are examining the call and voice message to identify their source. Madan Lal said there was no information confirming a ransom demand, but police were investigating the matter.
