Lucknow: A 42-year-old CRPF Havildar posted in Kashmir died after suffering an electric shock while attempting to plug in an electrical connection at his home in Roshanpur village under the Jahangirganj police station area of Sitapur on Saturday.The deceased, identified as Jawahir, had returned home on leave around eight days ago. According to his family, he was scheduled to return to duty on Aug 29.According to preliminary information, Jawahir was plugging a wire into an electrical board at his residence when he came into contact with an exposed portion of a damaged wire and received a severe electric shock.Family members and local residents immediately rushed him to Ramnagar Primary Health Centre, where doctors examined him and declared him dead.Jawahir was serving as a Havildar in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and was currently posted in Kashmir, said his father, Mahant Yadav.The sudden death left the family and residents of the village devastated. His wife, Reena, and his two daughters were inconsolable after learning about the incident.Jahangirganj station house officer Ritesh Pandey reached the hospital after receiving information about the incident. Police informed Jawahir’s CRPF battalion and initiated the necessary procedures.Police said the body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination.
