How Karl Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods’ relationship led to marriage
Towns and Woods had known each other for years before their relationship became romantic in 2020. They became Instagram official that September, with Woods writing, “I found you, then I found me.” Towns responded with a message about Woods being a light during a difficult period in his life.Their bond grew stronger as both dealt with painful family losses. Towns lost his mother, Jacqueline Cruz, to complications from COVID-19 in April 2020. Woods had lost her father, John Woods, in 2017. Their shared understanding helped bring them closer.Towns later praised Woods for staying beside him through some of his hardest moments. In a 2021 post, he wrote, “My woman has held me down more than the world knows.” He also thanked her for being with him after his 2019 car accident and during his health struggles.Distance was another test for the couple. While Towns played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Woods traveled between California and Minnesota to see him. That changed when Towns was traded to the Knicks in 2024 and the pair moved to New York. Woods was also regularly seen supporting him at Knicks games.Their relationship reached another major step in December 2025 when they announced their engagement. Months later, Towns won an NBA championship with the Knicks. Now, after years of staying together through difficult moments and major changes, Towns and Woods have started their married life.
