Hyderabad: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy directed revenue officials to upload all documents related to the regularisation of lands, including govt orders (GOs), orders, memos, land acquisition proceedings, layout permissions and other relevant records issued by the govt so far, by Aug 14.The minister assured the public that there was no need for apprehension regarding lands included in the Prohibitory Order Book (POB) list under Section 22-A and said justice would be done to every legally eligible person.The minister held a meeting with district collectors and sub-registrars of Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts on prohibited properties issues on Tuesday. He said the move would help prevent the use of forged documents and provide clarity to sub-registrars during the registration process. It would also enable officials to carry out additional verification to distinguish genuine documents from fake ones. He further said steps were being taken to provide sub-registrars with access to pahanis (land records) to ensure greater transparency.At the meeting, Ponguleti said the responsibility of district collectors was not merely to resolve problems after they arise but to ensure such issues do not occur in the first place. He warned that no one would be spared if they deliberately acted under the guise of Section 22-A in a manner that caused injustice to poor or otherwise eligible people.“I have already made it very clear that sub-registrars should not have discretionary powers or any additional powers in this regard. I am directing officials to restrict their authority to approving registrations based solely on what is available online,” the minister said.He reiterated that there would be no compromise in protecting govt properties and warned that strict action would be taken even for minor violations.He instructed district registrars to bring any issues to the notice of the collector or the inspector general (IG). “Registrations of properties included in the POB list should not be rejected outright. Sub-registrars should take three days to examine the matter and provide reasons for rejecting a registration. Every application relating to POB properties should be sent directly to the district collector instead of tahsildars. Correspondence should take place only between the collector and the district registrar,” he said.
