Chennai: A 25-year-old mini-truck driver died after the egg-laden vehicle he was driving crashed into a stationary goods truck at the Pallavaram traffic signal on the Trichy-Chennai National Highway in Chennai.The deceased Karthik, 25, of Pulianthope was driving a mini-truck carrying thousands of eggs from Namakkal to Chennai.According to police, the accident occurred when the mini-truck approached the Pallavaram signal at high speed and rammed a goods truck that was waiting at the traffic signal.The impact crushed the front portion of the mini-truck, trapping Karthik inside the cabin.Chromepet traffic investigation wing personnel, assisted by motorists, rescued Karthik from the wreckage and shifted him to the Tambaram district govt hospital., where he succumbed to injuries.
