Patna: A 70-year-old man allegedly attacked his son with a sharp weapon following a domestic dispute at Udarhampur locality under Mehndiganj police station area in Patna City on Saturday morning. The accused has been absconding after the incident, said police.The injured, Rajesh Singh (40), sustained injuries to his arms and legs and is undergoing treatment at a private medical facility.Mehndiganj SHO Pooja Kumari said the incident took place near Alkhiyababa Math in Udarhampur. The accused, Krishna Singh, allegedly lost his temper during an argument with his son and attacked him with a sharp weapon.“Family members intervened after the assault and managed to bring the situation under control. They subsequently rushed Rajesh to a private treatment centre, where he was admitted for medical care,” the SHO said.Preliminary inquiries indicated that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute between the father and son, police said. However, the exact circumstances that triggered the altercation are yet to be established.The SHO said a police team was investigating the incident to ascertain the cause of the dispute and establish the sequence of events. Police are also gathering details from those present at the time. Further action will be taken based on the findings.
