Nagpur: A 32-year-old karate trainer has been arrested for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl who was training under him at his centre last week. The shocking incident came to light on Saturday in the Hudkeshwar police station limits.The accused, Sagar Dudhe, a resident of Ramana Marotinagar in Nandanvan, runs a taekwondo training centre in Bahadura Phata area. The victim, a Class 3 student, had been attending sessions with him for the past eight months.According to police, on Aug 14, the girl went for training as usual. Around 8 pm, Dudhe allegedly took her to the bathroom at the centre and raped her on the pretext of giving the survivor a special training session. He had also threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone.The distressed girl returned home crying. When her mother questioned her, she narrated the entire episode. The mother immediately informed the police control room, which alerted Hudkeshwar police.A police team reached the victim’s residence, recorded her statement and registered a case under relevant sections for rape and other provisions of law. Dudhe was arrested soon after. He was produced before a local court, which remanded him to police custody till Aug 18.
