The curriculum also includes modules on software tools used for circuit analysis and design, along with practical exposure to printed circuit board design and hardware implementation. Additional focus areas include magnetics and thermal behaviour of power circuits, which are essential for efficient system performance.Faculty from IIT campuses, including IIT Madras, will lead the academic delivery, ensuring access to institutional expertise and infrastructure throughout the programme duration.Eligibility criteria and application processThe programme is open to candidates with a BE or BTech degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines. Fresh graduates as well as professionals with up to two years of relevant experience are eligible to apply. The application process will be conducted through ITEL Foundation’s interactive voice-based interview system. The last date for submission of applications has not been specified.Stipend and intake capacitySelected participants will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 during the six-month training period. The intake is limited to 10 candidates per campus, resulting in a total of 30 participants across IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Bombay. The residential format is designed to ensure continuous engagement, enabling participants to fully utilise academic resources and laboratory facilities available at the host institutions.Industry linkage and placement opportunitiesThe programme includes support from industry partners such as InPhase, Statcon Energiaa, Enspar, First Solar, L&T, and Ornate Solar. These organisations are expected to provide exposure to current practices in the renewable energy and power systems sectors.Participants completing the programme will have access to placement opportunities facilitated through the programme’s industry network. The initiative is aligned with efforts to develop technical skills required for sectors such as renewable energy, electric vehicles, and efficient energy conversion systems.
