Across Pune, the creativity surrounding Ganeshotsav is finding expression in idols that go beyond conventional forms. From a pandal on Tilak Road that’s made out of biscuits, to a 13ft Ganesha on FC Road crafted from 21,000 puris, the city’s pandals continue to experiment with imagination and craft. There’s another Ganpati made out of newspapers, by commercial artist Mukund Datar. These installations reflect the distinctive festive spirit, where tradition meets innovation.
