69 of 83 new industrial projects to come up outside Bengaluru
Karnataka’s government has approved eighty-three industrial projects valued at over six thousand crore rupees.

BENGALURU: In a push to disperse industrial growth beyond the state capital, Karnataka govt has approved 83 industrial projects worth Rs 6,253 crore, with 69 of them set to come up outside Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts under the “Beyond Bengaluru” initiative.The projects, cleared by the State Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC) chaired by Industries Minister M B Patil, are expected to generate more than 30,000 jobs across the state.The approvals underscore the govt’s continued emphasis on taking investments to tier-2 and tier-3 districts rather than concentrating industrial growth in Bengaluru, the tech capital of the country. While 14 projects will be located in Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts, the remaining 69 will be spread across other districts, said Patil.Among the major projects approved outside Bengaluru is Shrishail Mallikarjun Distillery Pvt Ltd, which will invest Rs 453 crore to establish a sugar and ethanol plant in Vijayapura district, creating 350 jobs. EID Parry India Ltd received approval for a Rs 397 crore jaggery manufacturing facility in Bagalkot district. Other notable investments outside Bengaluru include projects by Leafiniti BioEnergy, Blueline Foods India, GRB Dairy Foods and Pathikonda Balasubbasetty and Son group.Large projects in the Bengaluru region include Jaswin Ventures Pvt Ltd’s Rs 475-crore integrated industrial park and mixed-use township in Doddaballapura, expected to generate 12,000 jobs, Jampana Construction Pvt Ltd’s Rs 465-crore integrated industrial park in Doddaballapura with 2,500 jobs, and Axiscades Aerospace Infrastructure Pvt Ltd’s Rs 426-crore aerospace and defence MRO and manufacturing cluster in Devanahalli, which is expected to employ 2,500 people.Patil said 24 projects involving investments of more than Rs 50 crore accounted for Rs 4,702.99 crore of the total investment and are expected to create 25,170 jobs. Another 57 projects in the Rs 15 crore-Rs 50 crore investment category will bring investments of Rs 1,291.87 crore and generate 4,884 jobs, while two projects with investments below Rs 15 crore were also cleared.The approved proposals span sectors such as integrated industrial parks, aerospace and defence, food processing, renewable energy and IT services.The meeting was attended by industries dept principal secretary S Selvakumar, industries commissioner Khushboo Goel, KIADB CEO Govinda Reddy, Udyoga Mitra managing director Dodda Basavaraju and other senior officials.
