The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and the National Medical Commission (NMC) have released the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2026 counselling seat matrix for MD, MS, DNB and PG diploma admissions.The MCC will open the NEET PG 2026 Round 1 registration portal for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates on October 1.Candidates will be able to access the registration facility through the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in.According to the official statement by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the primary medical assessment board will remain open from October 1 at 5 pm to October 9.PwD candidates have been advised to visit the primary medical assessment centre within the given period and complete their medical assessment within the deadline.
NEET PG 2026 seat matrix: Seats increase to 58,000
The NEET PG 2026 seat matrix shows that the total number of MD, MS and PG diploma seats has increased to 58,000. This is an 11% rise from the previous year’s 52,173 seats.The seat matrix also shows an increase in seats across private and deemed universities. Seats in these institutions have increased by 32%, while government medical colleges have recorded an increase of up to 10%.Branches such as anaesthesia, ophthalmology, ENT, pathology, psychiatry and respiratory medicine have also seen an overall increase in seats for the 2026-27 academic year.The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has declared the NEET PG 2026 results for MD, MS, DNB and PG diploma admissions.Candidates can download their NEET PG 2026 result PDF through the official NBEMS website at natboard.edu.in.NBEMS will also issue the question ID numbers, correct answers, candidates’ recorded or marked responses, and scores awarded for each question on or after October 1.
PwD candidates must complete assessment
PwD candidates taking part in NEET PG 2026 counselling should complete their medical assessment during the specified window. The assessment will be conducted by the designated medical assessment board.The MCC will use the seat matrix for the counselling process for MD, MS, DNB and PG diploma seats. Candidates should check the official MCC website for registration details, eligibility requirements and further counselling updates.
