Yash-starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-ups’ has received an ‘Adults Only’ or ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The certification has come days before the movie’s theatrical release. Geetu Mohandas’ directorial is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on August 26.

The CBFC has cleared ‘Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-ups’ without asking the makers to remove any scenes. The board has instead instructed the team to make limited changes to certain words. The requested modifications apply to the Kannada version and its English subtitles. The words “Tevidiya Paiya” and “Tevidiya Pulla” have been marked for muting or replacement. Their corresponding English subtitle versions must also be changed. According to Variety, the CBFC has also directed the makers to add statutory warnings around scenes involving smoking or drug use. The warnings must appear at the beginning and after the interval.

‘Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-ups’ has a reported runtime of 194 minutes and 12 seconds. This translates to 3 hours, 14 minutes and 12 seconds. The CBFC has reportedly not demanded any additional changes apart from the specified word modifications and warnings.

BBFC gives ‘Toxic’ an ‘A’ classification

The movie has also received certification in the United Kingdom. The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has reportedly awarded ‘Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-ups’ an ‘Adults Only’ or ‘A’ classification. The UK certification comes with warnings related to violence and sex scenes. The BBFC has reportedly given the film a 5/5 rating for violence and injury detail.

‘Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-ups’ has undergone multiple changes to its release schedule. The movie was originally announced for an India release on March 19. It was expected to arrive alongside ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’. The makers later moved the release to June 4. The final theatrical date was eventually confirmed as August 26.
