A late-night attack at a Pittsburgh home has left a UPMC doctor dead and his wife critically injured. Police have arrested and charged 32-year-old Elijah Hemingway in connection with the stabbing.Dr Idris Evans, 46, was a paediatric critical-care specialist at UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was fatally stabbed at his home on Edgewood Avenue early Thursday, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.His wife was also attacked and remains critically injured.Who is Elijah Hemingway?Hemingway, 32, was identified by detectives after a K9 search led police to a nearby home, where they found a man with cuts on his hand.Police said he was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being detained and identified as Hemingway.Investigators allege that Hemingway entered Evans’ home while the couple were asleep and attacked both of them with a knife.Evans’ wife told police that she woke up to the attack.
