The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) is expected to declare the Class 10th (SSLC), Class 11, and Class 12 (HSC) supplementary examination results on the official website, tnresults.nic.in. The results are likely to be released by the last week of July, after which students will be able to download their provisional marksheets from the official portals. The supplementary examinations are an important opportunity for students who were unable to clear one or more subjects in the annual board examinations. The DGE has already announced the supplementary examination results for private candidates on July 22, 2026. Once announced, the students can view their results from the official Tamil Nadu result site and from the site of DGE. Other than the sites, provisional results will be made available through DigiLocker and SMS facilities so that the students have many ways to check their results.The students must have their registration number and date of birth with them in order to avoid any delay in checking the results once the result links are activated.Supplementary exams are taken every year by those students who have not been able to clear the board examinations in one or more subjects. The supplementary exams give a chance to candidates to perform better in the future.This year the Class 12 supplementary exams have been conducted from June 29 to July 7, 2026. On the other hand, Class 10 exams have been conducted from July 8 to July 15, and Class 11 arrear exams have been conducted from July 8 to July 16.

- Visit the official Tamil Nadu results website, tnresults.nic.in.
- Click on the relevant link for the SSLC, HSE +1 or HSE +2 Supplementary Result 2026.
- Enter the registration number and date of birth.
- Submit the details to view the result.
- Download and print the provisional marksheet for future use.
The online marksheet will serve as a provisional document until students receive their original certificates.
Passing criteria students should know
In order to clear the supplementary examination, the students need to secure at least 35 marks out of 100 in each subject.For those subjects which have practical examination, candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 15 marks in the theory exam as well along with the overall passing mark set by the board.The DGE is supposed to distribute the original physical mark sheets via schools from July 30, 2026. Those candidates who clear the supplementary exams will then be eligible for participating in further admission procedures, which include supplementary counselling sessions of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA).
