TIRUPUR: A summer special camp for govt school students will be held in Tirupur from May 6 to May 16. The camp, jointly organized by the district administration and the school education department, will be conducted at Jaivabai Model Girls Higher Secondary School. Sessions will be held from 10am to 1pm.Students studying in classes VII -XI in govt schools across Tirupur district can register and participate in the camp. Around 10 activities will be offered, including chess, art and painting, AI and robotics, archery, horse riding, spoken English, drone training, photography, baking and cooking, and pottery.According to officials, the initiative aims at enhancing students’ skills and providing exposure beyond academics during the summer vacation.A preparatory meeting was held under the chairmanship of district collector Dr Manish Narnaware on Thursday. District chief educational officer Punitha Anthoniyammal, along with trainers from Tirupur Chess Academy, Tirupur Archery Academy, Honey Bakes, Anglo Phones TCS, Surya’s Stable, art teachers, potters and photographers, participated in the meeting.
