More about Melissa Rycroft’s first DWI charge
More than a year ago on September 23, 2025, the TV star had been arrested for a DWI in Southlake itself. According to a press release about the case last year, the Southlake Police Department had officially stated that they had been called to a single-vehicle crash around 12:05 PM. At the time they had found “a black Cadillac Escalade that had struck a tree.” The statement continued, “Prior to the crash, witnesses reportedly observed the Escalade driving erratically,” while also sharing that Rycroft underwent the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, after which she was arrested and transported to the Keller Jail for further processing. This September, as per US Weekly, the woman was served with 20 months’ probation along with a USD 2,000 fine and court costs after pleading guilty in that case. Some other requests in her sentencing also included prohibition from consuming alcohol and other forms of substance for the duration of her probation, along with mandatory 36 hours of community service, a DWI education course, and a substance abuse evaluation. Last year, following her arrest, the 43-year-old had replied to a fan’s comment of support and addressed the arrest for the first time. Her comment on Instagram had read, “Thank you. Life really sucks right now, and I’m struggling, but I’m trying to march forward … but thank you for the sweet words in what seems like a world of negativity …”As for her stint on ‘The Bachelor,’ she had won the season when Jason Mesnick proposed to her in the finale. However, a few weeks later, during the airing of the ‘After the Final Rose’ special, he broke off their engagement to pursue runner-up Molly Malaney instead. On the personal front, she shares three kids with her husband, Tye Strickland, whom she wed in 2009.Disclaimer: The information in this report is based on a legal hearing as reported by a third-party source.
