Swiggy's CREW pairs human concierges with AI for its first travel push
Swiggy’s CREW travel concierge stays in touch on WhatsApp through the whole trip

Swiggy’s concierge platform CREW is moving into travel, launching what the company is calling India’s first always-on travel concierge. It’s a subscription service open right now to paid members and invited travellers. The idea is simple: most travel platforms stop working the moment a booking is confirmed, leaving travellers to sort out everything else on their own. CREW wants to stay involved through the whole trip instead, covering flights, hotels, cabs, visas and forex, and staying reachable once you’ve actually landed somewhere new.The travel push follows a year of CREW running as a broader concierge service, where the team found travel generated the strongest demand for hands-on help. Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy Food Marketplace, said on LinkedIn that CREW was built around closing “the gap between the booking and the experience.” The service now runs on a mix of human concierges and AI, aimed at keeping responses fast and consistent across time zones.

Hotel discounts, and someone who picks up at 2 am

A CREW membership starts with priority hotel rates, negotiated through the platform’s partner network and only available to members. Beyond that, it books flights, cabs, visas, forex and international tickets, and takes care of reservations and activities once you’re on the ground. The recommendations also come from an actual local network across international destinations, rather than a generic listings page.Riya Sethi Wadhwani, a CREW user who travelled to Europe this summer with her parents and young family. She said CREW helped pick flights and hotels early on. It then stayed reachable over WhatsApp through the trip, including when her family wanted to swap out a few sightseeing bookings after landing. It’s this kind of on-ground support, available round the clock, that CREW is betting will set it apart from apps that go quiet after checkout. For now, access to CREW’s travel concierge is limited to paid subscribers and invited travellers, with Swiggy pitching it as a premium layer for frequent travellers. Whether that always-on promise holds up will show up less in the booking flow and more in what happens once a flight’s actually delayed.
