The film, backed by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios, is expected to post one of the biggest global debuts of the post-pandemic era, as per early predictions by Deadline.If projections hold, ‘Brand New Day’ will become Sony Pictures’ second-biggest global opening ever, trailing only behind ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, which launched with an impressive USD 600.5 million worldwide in 2021. It would also surpass the previous record held by 2007’s ‘Spider-Man 3’, which had an opening day box office collection of USD 381.6 million.

Among post-pandemic releases, ‘Brand New Day’ is on track to record the third-largest worldwide opening, behind ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (USD 600.5 million) and ‘Zootopia 2’ (USD 560.3 million). It is also projected to debut ahead of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ (USD 452 million), ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ (USD 444.7 million), ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ (USD 441.7 million) and China’s animated blockbuster ‘Ne Zha 2’ (USD 431.2 million).
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ global release schedule
The global rollout began on Wednesday across several key territories, including Argentina, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, South Korea, Spain and the United Kingdom. The film releases in Australia, India and Saudi Arabia on Thursday, July 30, while Japan gets the film on Friday, July 31.In North America, preview screenings begin on Thursday, July 30, with an exclusive Wednesday evening show. The film is expected to draw a broad audience, aided by the return of Tom Holland and Zendaya, as well as the addition of ‘Stranger Things’ breakout star Sadie Sink.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ to release sans IMAX screens
While Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ occupies IMAX screens across the world, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ will play in IMAX in select markets, including China, Japan and South Korea.
