The ‘Dhurandhar’ craze continues to make waves, and this time, the franchise has earned praise from one of Bollywood’s biggest superstars, Shah Rukh Khan. When both the parts of the franchise released and proved to be so successful, fans wondered about the silence of many actors on the film. Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan’s reaction to ‘Dhurandhar’ was highly awaited but SRK has now finally broken silence on it. Ranveer Singh’s spy-action franchise has made a strong impact at the box office while also sparking plenty of discussion around his performances as Hamza and Jaskirat. SRK has now revealed that he has watched both instalments and thoroughly enjoyed them.During a recent #AskSRK session on X, a fan asked Shah Rukh about some of the biggest Hindi blockbusters in recent times and specifically questioned him about ‘Dhurandhar’. “Have you seen Dhurandhar? #AskSRK” the user asked.Shah Rukh responded, “Loved both the parts….fantastic by the whole team!!!”Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar’ is a spy-action thriller set against the backdrop of Karachi’s criminal underworld, political circles and the tensions between India and Pakistan. Ranveer Singh plays Hamza Ali Mazari, an undercover Indian intelligence operative who enters Karachi’s Lyari neighbourhood and gradually makes his way into the local criminal network.The story draws inspiration from several real-world geopolitical events, including the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and the gang wars in Karachi’s Lyari area. However, the film is presented as a fictionalised spy thriller rather than a biographical account of a particular intelligence officer.At the heart of the story is Hamza, whose true identity and connection to an Indian intelligence operation are gradually revealed. Operating undercover within a dangerous criminal ecosystem, he must earn the confidence of gangsters, political figures and terror-linked characters while ensuring that his real identity remains concealed.The film boasts an extensive ensemble cast. Akshaye Khanna plays underworld figure Rehman Dakait, while Sanjay Dutt portrays police officer S.P. Choudhary Aslam. Arjun Rampal features as Major Iqbal, and R. Madhavan plays intelligence officer Ajay Sanyal, who is associated with the larger operation.Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, Gaurav Gera, Manav Gohil and Akash Khurana are also part of the cast. Sara plays Yalina Jamali, while Rakesh Bedi essays Jameel Jamali.
