Tamil actor Saravanan has issued a public clarification after his first wife reportedly filed a police complaint alleging that her life was under threat. The complaint, which has attracted attention on social media, is currently being looked into by the police. In response, Saravanan visited the police station along with his second wife and their son and submitted a counter-complaint, claiming the allegations against him were false. The actor said he wanted to present his side of the story before both the authorities and the public.
Saravanan responds to threat allegations with strong clarification
Speaking to reporters after filing the complaint, Saravanan firmly denied the accusations. “I have been living with my wife Sridevi for the past 12 years, and we have a nine-year-old son. I have no reason to harm anyone. Why would I do something that would destroy my own life and land me in prison? I want to make it clear that no danger will come to my first wife because of me,” he said. The actor added that he chose to address the issue publicly because he did not want the allegations to create a false impression about him.
Saravanan claims legal and property disputes are behind the issue
Saravanan said the current controversy is rooted in long-running legal and financial disputes between him and his first wife. “I have already filed for divorce, and there are cases related to maintenance and other issues being handled in court. I have also legally challenged some of those claims,” he said. The actor further alleged that disagreements over property matters, including parking space rights in their residential complex, have added to the conflict. “Several of these matters have already gone through the legal process, and I have received favourable orders. Suddenly, a complaint has been filed claiming there is a threat to life, and I strongly deny that allegation,” he added.
Actor presents family photos to support his version
Explaining why he decided to appear before the media, Saravanan said he wanted to show evidence that contradicted the accusations against him. “The person who is now making these allegations was once part of our family life. She was aware of my relationship with my wife and has even spent time with us and our son. That is why these claims have come as a shock to me,” he said. The actor also displayed photographs showing family moments involving himself, his first wife, his second wife and their child. “I am living a peaceful life with my family. I have come forward only to state the truth and to make it clear that the allegations against me are false,” Saravanan said, reiterating that he would continue to address the matter through legal channels as the police investigation proceeds.
