Rupankar Bagchi has recorded two new Bengali songs, “Megh Ashe Pashe” and “Ekla Poth”, at the historic HMV studio in Dum Dum, now known as Saregama. The songs, released on September 25, were written and composed by Sudipta Chanda.The release comes ahead of Puja and International Tourism Day on September 27, with both songs drawing on themes of travel and the hills. Ranadeep Mukherjee, popularly known as Manu, arranged “Megh Ashe Pashe”, while Madhurjo Mukherjee handled the arrangement of “Ekla Poth”.The recording also brought Bagchi back to a studio with which he has a long association. He recalled visiting the HMV studio in 1992 to watch the recording of songs by Suman Chattopadhyay, before returning there over the years to record his own albums. Speaking about the new songs, Bagchi noted his previous work with Chanda and described the collaboration as a familiar one.Chanda said travel songs in Bengali have remained a recurring part of his work, with several music videos being filmed in the hills.Both songs are available on streaming platforms. The music video for “Ekla Poth” has also been released on YouTube.
