Two Arrested at Ahmedabad Railway Station After RPF Rescues Two Minor Girls

Ahmedabad: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued two minor girls, aged 15 and 17, from Ahmedabad railway station and arrested two men on charges of allegedly kidnapping them. The accused have been identified as Aquib Ansari (24) and Syed Ibrahim (21).During preliminary questioning, the accused told investigators that they had befriended the girls through social media and online gaming platforms before taking them to Jodhpur railway station, reportedly with the intention of travelling onward to Bengaluru. The minors were rescued on Thursday under “Operation Seva” after RPF Ahmedabad received information from Kudi Bhagtasni police station in Jodhpur City regarding the missing girls. Acting on this input, an RPF team checked the Jodhpur–KSR Bengaluru Superfast Express and located one of the girls on board. The man accompanying her attempted to flee but was caught after a chase. Police said he had deleted communication records from his phone and thrown the device from the moving train in an effort to destroy evidence. The phone was later recovered at Nadiad railway station.RPF personnel subsequently restored data from the recovered device and traced the mobile number of the second suspect. With assistance from Jodhpur police, his live location was obtained, leading to his arrest along with the second minor girl at platform no. 1 of Ahmedabad railway station.Police also recovered a fake e-Aadhaar card bearing the name “Aryan,” along with photographs of the girls’ Aadhaar cards, from the mobile phones of the accused during the investigation.
