Renault India recently launched the Renault Triber with a turbo engine in India, with prices starting at Rs 7.84 lakh (ex-showroom). The Triber Turbo is offered in three variants: Evolution, Techno, and Emotion. Depending on the variant, the Triber Turbo commands a premium of Rs 94,000 to Rs 1.11 lakh over the naturally aspirated model. Renault has paired it with a revised engine management system, allowing the Triber to produce 180Nm of torque, which is higher than the output of both the Kiger and Duster. The engine continues to deliver 100hp, while the claimed 0-100kph acceleration time stands at 10.8 seconds. At launch, buyers can choose only a 5-speed manual gearbox, with a CVT automatic expected to be introduced at a later stage.
