India head coach Gautam Gambhir has called for more three-Test series, saying they give teams an opportunity to recover after losing the opening match.“Ideally, I would want a three-match Test series,” Gambhir said. “I’ve always believed there should be a possibility for a team that loses the first Test to come back and win the series. You can’t do that in a two-Test series, the most you can do is draw it. A short turnaround between Tests is fine. Other teams are doing that as well.”Despite India’s poor Test run under his watch, with the team having lost 10 Tests since he took charge in July 2024, Gambhir said he remains unfazed.Asked about his discussions with selection chief Ajit Agarkar, Gambhir said, “It’s only about how we want to move forward in cricket. Rankings do not matter. We are not struggling. Since the England tour, we have played reasonable Test cricket.”
