The 75-year-old former playback singer’s demise brought several familiar faces from the Hindi film industry to pay their respects, with stars including Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Tusshar Kapoor arriving to stand by the grieving family. The prayer meet is held at J.W.Marriot, Juhu in Mumbai.

Krishna held a special place in Rani’s life and was often seen accompanying her over the years. The actor had spoken on multiple occasions about the close bond she shared with her mother. Besides being a devoted family figure, Krishna also had ties to the Bengali film industry, having worked as a playback singer. She was married to filmmaker Ram Mukherjee, one of the co-founders of Filmalaya Studios, who passed away in 2017.
