The makers of ‘Ramayana’ has released two fresh character posters, with Lara Dutta playing Queen Kaikeyi and Sheeba Chadha as Manthara. The posters spotlight two crucial figures and hint at the turn of events that will alter Lord Rama’s destiny forever. Through them, audiences get their first look at two characters whose roles are closely linked to the course of the epic.

The posters point to a major turning point in the story. Kaikeyi’s two wishes would alter the course of events for King Dashrath and Lord Rama, while Manthara’s whispers would sway the Queen’s decisions and set in motion changes that would shape the kingdom’s future. These reveals come after the unveiling of Arun Govil as King Dashrath, adding to the ensemble of the two-part epic. Govil, who made Lord Ram a household image for generations on television, now returns to the world of ‘Ramayana’ as the King of Ayodhya.Lara’s Kaikeyi appears in a regal look, dressed in elaborate traditional attire and jewellery that reflect her status as the Queen of Ayodhya. Sheeba Chadha’s Manthara, on the other hand, has a strikingly different look, with the actor shown holding a staff in her character poster.

The makers shared the posters on social media with the caption: “A queen. A mother. Two wishes that would betray a father’s love and change Rama’s destiny forever. A cunning mind. Whose whispers would turn a mother’s love into a kingdom’s darkest hour. Lara Dutta as Queen Kaikeyi. Sheeba Chadha as Manthara.”
‘Ramayana’ cast and release date
Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ brings together Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Rocking Star Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.The two-part epic is backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, together with 8-time Oscar-winning DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Part 1 is slated for a worldwide release in Diwali 2026, and Part 2 will follow in Diwali 2027, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam across India.
