While the ‘Against All Odds’ hitmaker was discharged initially, he was re-hospitalised in an intensive care unit and was mostly unconscious the second time. “My kidneys were packing up, my organs were just seizing up,” Collins said to The Times, and continued, “People were coming to say goodbye. But I don’t remember them coming. I didn’t have no idea this was going on. They were all worried that they wouldn’t see me again. It could all have gone so terribly wrong.”Furthermore, Collins claimed that his five children rushed to the hospital thinking that he was going to pass away. “There were some decisions to be made about ‘Do we keep Phil on life support?’ kind of thing,” he said about the 2024 hospitalisation. Expressing his gratitude for coming out of the situation, the renowned singer affirmed that he has not touched alcohol ever since.
