Madurai: Madras high court on Wednesday directed the state to pay pending arrears of financial assistance to the victim woman who was transfused HIV-infected blood while she was pregnant, at a govt hospital in Sattur in Virudhunagar district in 2018.A division bench of Justice C V Karthikeyan and Justice R Sakthivel passed the order while hearing a batch of petitions seeking a direction to the state to provide compensation to the woman.Earlier, the court had directed the state to pay Rs25 lakh compensation and provide her govt employment. It was also directed to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs7,500 to the woman. The court further directed the state to construct a house and provide a two-wheeler to her. The hearing in the batch of petitions was adjourned to Sept 17.
