Lucknow: Elaborate arrnagements have been made at various police establishments to celebrate birth of Lord Krishna on Janmashtami on Friday.At PAC, Mahanagar, the campus has been decked up with floral decorations and colourful LED lights, lending a festive look to the premises. Walls across the campus have been painted with vibrant depictions of Lord Krishna, portraying different stages of his life from his playful infant form to his divine avatar. The artwork also features images of Radha and Kalia Naag.On the main day of the celebrations, police personnel and their families living on the campus will stage a drama depicting the birth of Krishna inside a prison. Three troupes from Mathura will also participate and present Phoolon ki Holi, Raas Leela and Krishna Leela.At Lucknow Reserve Police Lines, preparations are also in full swing, with nearly 25 cultural and devotional programmes will be held. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to attend the celebrations.“Artists, including Murari Lal Tiwari and Baleshwar along with artistes associated with Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya and the UP culture department, will present Kathak, Bharatnatyam and Krishna Leela,” said additional DCP Twinkle Jain. Students of Police Modern School and children associated with Vama Sarathi will also take part in the programmes.Ramakrishna Missionplans many progsRamakrishna Mission has planned a series of devotional events to mark the occasion. The celebrations will begin with Mangla Aarti, followed by devotional songs by Ashok Mukherjee at 5.30pm. Janmashtami puja will be performed at 7.35pm, followed by bhajans, a Krishna Leela dance performance by schoolchildren and distribution of prasad, said Swami Muktinathnanda.
