She was admitted to Mayo Hospital. After treatment, she was arrested on Saturday morning.Tehsil Police sought magisterial custody for sending Ashiana to central jail, citing how she planned the kidnapping and the grave risk she posed to the baby’s life. The magistrate, however, sought a written explanation from police, pointing out that the offence of kidnapping carries a maximum punishment of less than seven years. In cases carrying a punishment of less than seven years, police are supposed to release the accused after serving a notice.During interrogation, police said they found Ashiana to be displaying symptoms of mental disturbance.
