Jaipur: A woman was booked after she was allegedly caught on a hidden CCTV camera while entering her neighbour’s flat with a duplicate key and rummaging through cupboards in an attempt to steal valuables. The flat owner told the police that jewellery and cash worth several lakhs were stolen from his home earlier, leading him to suspect the woman living in the neighbouring flat. To verify his suspicion, he secretly installed a CCTV camera inside the room.The family was away to attend a birthday party Thursday evening. Around 8.15 pm, the complainant checked the CCTV feed and saw the neighbour inside the flat opening cupboards and searching through their belongings. He immediately called up another neighbour, who locked the flat’s gate from outside to prevent her escape.The complainant rushed back and allegedly found the woman trapped inside the flat. When he began recording a video of her from outside the gate, she allegedly tore her clothes and threatened to implicate him in a false case, police said. After receiving information, Muhana police reached the spot.Police said a case was registered against the woman for allegedly trespassing into the flat.
