From tourists to students and families, people from India can often be spotted in some of the busiest cities overseas. That is exactly what inspired a Mumbai-based content creator to try a simple challenge in New York’s Times Square. Instead of guessing how many Indians he might come across, he decided to count them. What happened next has now become a talking point on social media.
The challenge started with one simple question
Mumbai-based content creator Prannay Joshi documented the challenge in an Instagram video. Before starting, he set a one-hour timer at 9:57 pm and stepped into the crowd at Times Square.His plan was straightforward. He approached people one group at a time and asked, “Are you from India?” As he moved through the area, he met families, tourists, and groups of friends while keeping track of the total number of Indians he found.
He reached the target in less than an hour
The challenge got off to a quick start. The first group he spoke to had 12 people, and all of them turned out to be Indians.The count continued to rise steadily. Within the first 15 minutes, he had already found 32 Indians.He eventually completed the challenge in just 48 minutes, well before the one-hour timer ended. After reaching the 100-mark, he celebrated on camera and appeared surprised by how quickly he had achieved his goal.

The video soon attracted attention online, with many users reacting to how quickly the challenge was completed.
