Gurgaon: A 34-year-old man died after his motorcycle crashed into a truck allegedly parked illegally without indicator lights on Golf Course Extension Road near Bikanervala in Sector 57 early on Thursday.The truck driver fled the spot, and police have registered a case against the unidentified vehicle and its driver.According to the police, the deceased, Vinay Mukhiya, a resident of Sangam Vihar in Delhi, was returning home from work on his motorbike around 2am on Oct 1 when the accident took place. Vinay worked in a private company.Vinay’s brother Arun Mukhiya, in his complaint, submitted that a tea vendor, Rahul, who was present near the spot, told him that several large trucks had been parked on the road and the truck involved in the accident had no indicator or warning lights switched on.Arun, in his complaint, submitted that Vinay was travelling towards Tigra when his motorcycle crashed into the illegally parked truck, killing him on the spot. Arun said that Rahul could not note down the truck’s registration number in the confusion following the accident.Police said they received information about the fatal accident through an ERV on Thursday and reached the spot. Police checked Vinay’s bag and found his Aadhaar card, which helped establish his identity.Vinay’s body was taken by a private ambulance to Civil Hospital, Sector 10, Gurgaon, where police received the medical intimation.Based on Arun’s complaint, Sector 56 police registered a case under sections 285 (danger or obstruction in public way) and 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of BNS against the unidentified vehicle and its driver.PSI Dinesh Kumar has been assigned the investigation. Police are examining the circumstances of the crash, and efforts are on to identify the truck and trace its driver.
