Seizure made by the counter-intelligence wing of Punjab Police
Amritsar: The counter-intelligence wing of the Punjab Police, Amritsar, on Friday claimed to have busted an alleged cross-border narcotics smuggling module and arrested one person with 10 kg of heroin.DGP Gaurav Yadav, in a post on X, said the preliminary investigation revealed that the accused was allegedly in contact with a foreign-based smuggler and was receiving heroin consignments for further distribution as instructed.An FIR has been registered against the accused at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar. Investigators are now probing the accused’s connections to identify other network members and trace the wider cross-border supply chain, the DGP said, adding that further investigation is underway.
