Madurai: District collector Nishanth Krishna on Wednesday inspected flyover work at Goripalayam in Madurai. He directed officials to speed up work and expedite the necessary land acquisition procedures.At Sellur, placing of deck slabs has been finished while the construction of crash barriers, road laying and work for approach roads and service roads are in progress.The collector then reviewed the construction of a flood protection wall along the Panthalkudi canal of the Sellur tank and the construction of small bridges carried out by the water resources department in Madurai north taluk.MLA A Kallanai and corporation commissioner Gaurav Kumar accompanied the collector.Earlier in the day, Gaurav Kumar reviewed public toilet facilities and ongoing sanitation work in zone 4. He also inspected Thayir Market on Keela Marret Street, and sanitation issues on Cement Road near Ranganayaki Street.
