Lucknow: Students of Lucknow University staged a protest outside the dean of students’ welfare (DSW) office on Thursday, alleging discrepancies in hostel allotments and demanding transparency in the allocation process.The protesters demanded a review of the allotment list and said the grievances of students who felt they had been unfairly treated should be addressed.LU student Anurag Tomar said, “Where will we stay if we are denied hostel accommodation? We believe we are being blacklisted by the provosts just because we protested against the poor quality of food served in hostel messes. Students should not have to fear losing accommodation for raising genuine concerns about food quality.”Chief provost Aashees Awasthi said students blacklisted by the provosts were not being allotted hostel accommodation as the university was following the prescribed rules. “We will not allot rooms to defaulters,” he said.
