Prayagraj: In a major development, the Kaushambi police on Monday arrested a man who allegedly supplied firecrackers at inflated prices to Naushad, the owner of the firecracker unit where a recent explosion claimed 14 lives.The accused was identified as Shoiab of Shahganj in Prayagraj.Shoaib used to bring firecrackers from a Tamil Nadu firm and supplied it to Naushad and his brother to be sold in Kaushambi and adjoining districts.Besides, Naushad was also getting explosive materials from a man from Hapur to manufacture firecrackers.Police said Shoaib’ father Aleem had a licence for storage of firecrackers but it was suspended by authorities after a case was registered against them by Naini police for over stocking.
