KALYAN: A 25-year-old construction worker was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Nikinagar, Kalyan West, on Wednesday morning after a speeding car allegedly knocked him down.The deceased, identified as Sunil Koli, was thrown off the road by the impact and landed inside a roadside archway near a hoarding. According to eyewitnesses, the car was speeding when it hit Koli, and the driver fled without stopping to help him.Senior inspector Rajendra Khedekar of Khadakpada police station confirmed that Koli was a construction worker. Police have registered a case against the unidentified driver and launched an investigation.Police are examining CCTV footage from the accident spot and nearby areas to identify the vehicle and trace the driver. Further investigation is underway.
