Caleb Williams has changed his look, and Chicago Bears fans may need a second look. The Bears quarterback showed up at the Chicago Cubs game Thursday night with a noticeably different look, ditching the beard he’s become known for and leaving behind a mustache-only style. And of course, the very famous “Nail Paints.”
Caleb Williams’ new look has Bears fans talking, but there’s more to the change
Yes, Caleb Williams now has just the mustache. And while it may sound like a minor offseason change, the new look immediately caught attention as the Bears prepare for the 2026 NFL season. Williams has typically been seen with a full beard or at least a goatee. This time, however, he trimmed it down and kept only the mustache. The reaction inside the Bears locker room may have been even better than the reaction from fans.Wide receiver Kalif Raymond couldn’t resist taking a shot at his quarterback when asked about the new look Thursday.“Oh, man, I said boy you look like your pops,” Raymond said, according to the Chicago Tribune’s Sean Hammond.Raymond then took the joke even further, saying Williams looked like he had “four kinds on the way right now” and jokingly dubbed it his “camp stash.”But Raymond also admitted that, somehow, Williams was pulling it off.“He looks good,” Raymond said. And perhaps that is the real surprise. The mustache isn’t the only thing that has changed about Williams heading into Year 3.The quarterback also arrived at training camp noticeably leaner after revealing that he had dropped between 10 and 15 pounds during the offseason. Williams said the lighter frame has helped him feel more comfortable moving around and making plays outside the pocket. Now, with the beard gone too, Williams is entering the new season looking like a slightly different version of himself.Fans seemed equally shocked and thrilled to see their QB rocking a new look, with special focus on the painted nails. There is also an interesting timing to the makeover.Williams is coming off a promising 2025 season in which the Bears made the playoffs, and expectations are rising around Chicago heading into 2026. The Bears have a new-look roster and will be counting heavily on their young quarterback to take another step forward. So naturally, the most important question before the season begins may be: Will the mustache stay?NFL players can be notoriously superstitious, and if Williams starts lighting up the league while rocking the new look, Bears fans may never want to see the beard again. But if things go sideways?Don’t be surprised if the beard makes an immediate comeback. For now, though, Caleb Williams appears to be embracing the mustache era. And judging by his teammate’s reaction, the Bears locker room is already having fun with it.
