Patna: Major General Jitendra Singh, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Jharkhand & Bihar Sub Area, and chairperson, Local Board of Administration (LBA), visited Sainik School Nalanda, to preside over the institution’s 26th LBA meeting, a spokesperson of Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Friday.During his visit on Thursday, the GOC reviewed a guard of honour and inspected the recent infrastructure developments at the school. He also witnessed a cadet band display, showcasing the discipline, coordination and talent of the cadets.Major General Singh also released the digital edition of the school magazine, ‘The Mauryan 2026’, and appreciated the faculty and staff for their efforts and contribution towards the continued growth and development of the institution.As part of the visit, Singh conducted an exclusive interactive session with the cadets, with a special focus on mentoring and nurturing future leaders. He highlighted the essential leadership traits and core values required to become successful officers in the armed forces, emphasising discipline, integrity, courage, commitment and a strong sense of responsibility.Motivating the cadets to aspire for a career in the armed forces, the GOC exhorted them to prepare diligently for the National Defence Academy (NDA) examination, strive to don the uniform with pride and honour, and dedicate themselves to the service and safeguarding of the nation.
