Garhwa: The Garhwa administration has issued show-cause notices to three newly deployed teachers and a warden after they failed to join duty at a residential school for girls in Kharondhi, officials said on Tuesday.The action comes after a June 26 incident at the school, where 71 girls fell ill after consuming food. Following the incident, Garhwa deputy commissioner Pashupati Nath Mishra relieved five staff members, including the warden, from duty. Since then, classroom teaching and other essential activities at the school have been affected.On July 7, the Jharkhand Education Project Council deployed four staffers: Ajana Parsad as warden and Seema Kumari, Chandana Kumari and Poonam Kumari as teachers. However, only Poonam Kumari has reported for duty. Officials said the absent teachers must explain their no-show without further delay.The school education department said efforts are being made to restore normality and confidence among students. District education officer (DEO) Jaggarnath Lohra said, “Issues such as safety, food, drinking water and other necessary facilities will be addressed at a meeting with the school management, teachers and guardians to instil confidence in the girls and to make the school fully operational.”
