Shimla: Five residential houses were gutted in a fire that broke out in Dhar village of the Jubbal area in Shimla district late Thursday night. However, no casualties or injuries were reported.Jubbal SHO Chetan Chauhan said the fire was reported to the Jubbal fire station around 11:20 pm. Firefighters rushed to the spot, and additional fire tenders were called from Rohru, Kotkhai and Tikkar due to the blaze’s intensity.The houses belonging to Nanak Chand Chauhan, Harnam Singh, Narendra Singh, Manida Devi and Anil Dhanta were completely destroyed in the blaze.Local police and villagers assisted fire personnel in controlling the blaze. Firefighters battled the flames throughout the night, and operations continued until morning to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby houses.The cause of the fire remains unknown. Police have registered a case, while officials are assessing the extent of the property damage. The administration has assured the affected families of compensation and necessary assistance.
