Farah Khan looked back at one of the most talked-about controversies involving her brother Sajid Khan during a candid conversation with Shekhar Suman, explaining why she instinctively came to his defence.Recalling the widely discussed public spat between Sajid Khan and filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker at an awards show, Shekhar asked Farah whether Sajid had been right or wrong.

‘Sajid has always been my responsibility’

Before answering directly, Farah explained why she immediately stood by her younger brother.“I have a child that I have been looking after since I was five years old. Sajid was always my responsibility,” she said, explaining that protecting him came naturally to her.Addressing the incident itself, Farah clarified that her relationship with Ashutosh Gowariker has always remained warm.“I feel Ashutosh and we are very old friends. My only thing was that if he was feeling bad, he could have just come backstage and spoken to Sajid. We got a shock because Ashu is genuinely a very, very close friend of ours. And he still is.”

Roasting should have limits

The conversation then shifted to the growing culture of celebrity roasting. Farah admitted she enjoys humour but believes there are limits.“I like roasting, but it is not for our country. It’s not part of our culture. Our culture is not about inviting a guest and insulting them.”She added that while she does roast people on her own show, she ensures it is done respectfully.“I noticed that you roast people with so much decency that even the person you’re roasting enjoys it, and so does the audience,” Shekhar told her.Farah agreed that humour works best when it remains good-natured rather than hurtful.

A hilarious confession from Main Hoon Na

Towards the end of the episode, Farah made a humorous confession involving producer Sajid Nadiadwala‘s son Subhaan during the shooting of Main Hoon Na. She revealed that the infant accidentally fell off the bed during filming, but instead of informing his parents immediately, she quickly placed him back on the bed and completed the shot.“I never told his mother or father. We got a wonderful shot of the child crying. Sorry, Sajid and sorry, Warda,” she said with a laugh.
