Yadgir: Shahapur police registered a case against Shankargouda Mallesappagouda and former KPSC chairperson Shivashankarappa Sahukar for allegedly using forged documents to claim ownership of 10 acres and 20 guntas of land in Anabi village of Shahapur taluk and subsequently transferring the property to Sahukar.The case was registered following a complaint lodged by Vishwanath Chandrarao Patil. “An investigation is underway. Shivashankarappa, who has been named in the case, is a former KPSC chairperson,” SP Prithvik Shankar said.According to the complaint, Vishwanath’s stepmother, Basamma Goudati Gadigappagouda, had no children. During her old age, she lived at her parental home in Jewargi. She came to Anabi in 2011, where she died.The complaint alleged that Shankargouda, a resident of Anabi, subsequently created fake documents claiming that he was Basamma Goudati’s son. Based on these documents, he allegedly got the 10 acres and 20 guntas of land registered in her name transferred to his name.Shankargouda later allegedly executed a sale deed transferring the property to Shivashankarappa Sahukar, thereby cheating the complainant, according to the complaint.
