Patna: Delhi Public School, Danapur Cantonment, won the Green School Competition 2026 organised by the Bihar State Pollution Control Board (BSPCB), while Vidya Bihar Residential School, Purnia, secured the second position and Army Public School, Danapur Cantonment, finished third. Three other schools — Notre Dame Academy, Radiant International School, and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bailey Road — received Certificates of Merit.The competition was organised for schools across the state to encourage students to adopt environmentally responsible practices and promote green initiatives on campuses. Twenty schools participated in the second edition of the competition. The winners were selected on the basis of self-assessment scores followed by verification.The awards were presented by BSPCB member-secretary Neeraj Narayan. The programme also featured discussions on air pollution and environmental protection.Experts spoke about air pollution sources, mitigation strategies and the need for coordinated action. Speakers included researchers and environmental specialists who discussed particulate matter, industrial emissions, urban pollution sources and their impact on public health.SPIC MACAY classical music programme enthralls Sainik School Nalanda cadetsA special cultural programme was organised at Sainik School Nalanda under the aegis of SPIC MACAY to familiarise students with Indian classical music and the country’s rich cultural heritage.Renowned flautist Pandit Rajendra Prasanna presented a flute recital, accompanied on tabla by Pandit Abhishek Mishra, featuring compositions in various ragas and highlighting the depth and diversity of Indian classical music.The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Sainik School Nalanda Principal Colonel Bhupendra Kumar, who also honoured the visiting artists with bouquets and a shawl.The students listened to the recital with enthusiasm and concentration. Vice Principal Lt Col Meghna Singh, Administrative Officer Lt Col Harsh Madhukar Sapdhare, teachers, administrative staff and cadets were present.
