Kochi: Crime branch submitted a chargesheet on Thursday in connection with its probe against the producers of the Malayalam film Manjummel Boys over alleged financial fraud.According to sources, actor-producer Soubin Shahir, his father Babu Shahir and Shawn Antony were arrayed as accused in the chargesheet, which runs to over 1,000 pages. The charges against the accused include provisions for criminal breach of trust and criminal conspiracy.The case pertains to a complaint filed by Siraj Valiyaveettil Hameed, a native of Aroor. He complained that the accused accepted money from him, promising 40% of the profits from the film. He alleged that the producers did not share the profits as promised.The accused earlier moved courts, including the apex court, seeking to quash the FIR against them. However, their petitions were dismissed.The case was registered by Maradu police in April 2024 on the direction of the Ernakulam first class magistrate court.
