BMW India has opened bookings for the facelifted 7 Series and i7, just over three months after the models were unveiled globally. Customers can book the flagship luxury sedans through authorised dealerships or register their interest via the BMW India website. The update brings revised exterior and interior styling, new technology and upgraded powertrains. The facelifted 7 Series and i7 were unveiled globally in April 2026. In India, the outgoing 7 Series is priced at Rs 1.85 crore (ex-showroom) for both petrol and diesel versions, while the i7 is priced between Rs 2.10 crore and Rs 2.58 crore (ex-showroom). BMW is expected to announce a marginal price increase when the updated models are launched.In terms of design, the front end has been redesigned with BMW’s latest illuminated kidney grille and a revised split headlamp setup. The slim upper lighting elements now house the daytime running lights, while the main headlamps are positioned lower in the bumper near the air curtains. In profile, the 7 Series retains its long-wheelbase proportions and flush-fitting door handles. BMW has introduced a new alloy wheel design, while the B-pillar now features an embossed ‘7’ that is revealed when both doors on one side are opened.The rear has also been updated with slimmer tail-lamps extending further into the tailgate. The lighting units feature smoked lenses and chrome detailing. Functional elements such as the boot release, rear-view camera and washer nozzle have been concealed, while the rear bumper now gets a revised diffuser-style insert.Moving inside, the dashboard has been redesigned around a 17.9-inch central touchscreen and a 14.6-inch display for the front passenger. The conventional digital instrument cluster has been replaced by a full-width projection display at the base of the windscreen. The infotainment system runs BMW Operating System X and supports over-the-air software updates, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto and enhanced voice control. BMW has also introduced a new four-spoke steering wheel inspired by the brand’s classic models.The standard feature list includes a Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System with up to 18 speakers. The ambient lighting has also been revised with a full-width illuminated strip across the dashboard, illuminated rear speaker grilles, lighting elements behind the front seats and additional rear reading lights. Both front seats continue to offer electric adjustment, heating, ventilation, massage functions, lumbar support and heated armrests as standard. The front passenger seat can slide fully forward to provide additional legroom for the rear occupant.Rear passengers also receive an upgraded entertainment package. The 31.3-inch 8K Theatre Screen, previously optional in overseas markets, now supports streaming, gaming and video calls. The touchscreens integrated into the rear doors have also been updated, allowing passengers to adjust the Theatre Screen, change its viewing angle and operate several cabin functions. BMW has also repositioned the controls for the automatic doors.The 740i xDrive petrol and 740d xDrive diesel continue with 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder mild-hybrid engines, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Both engines now produce more power than before. The petrol unit develops 400hp and 580Nm, up by 19hp and 60Nm, while the diesel delivers 313hp and 670Nm, marking increases of 27hp and 20Nm. BMW has not confirmed whether the plug-in hybrid version of the 7 Series will be introduced in India, although the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.The electric i7 has also been updated. The earlier i7 50 eDrive has been replaced by the i7 50 xDrive, which now comes with all-wheel drive and a larger 112.4kWh battery, replacing the previous 101.7kWh unit. Power rises to 455hp, while torque increases to 660Nm. The i7 M70 xDrive also adopts the larger battery, with output increasing from 650hp to 680hp and torque rising from 1,015Nm to up to 1,100Nm.
