Arc Raiders is heading beyond the Rust Belt on October 8 with its next major update, Frozen Trail. The upcoming update will take players to a frozen Italian village where a fallen Emperor has left behind rare technology. The update introduces a new map, new Arc enemies, weapons and traversal tools, while also adding a new home base and a weapon upgrade system designed to change how players approach late-game combat.The Frozen Trail update will take players to Pendola Pass, an old Italian village and former Exodus transport hub hidden beyond the mountains surrounding the Rust Belt. The area includes a supermarket, town square, observatory and buried train depot, with the remains of a fallen Emperor serving as its main attraction. Players will have to find a way inside while dealing with Arc forces and sudden flash freezes.
New enemies and the Frigate
The fallen Emperor has also prompted Arc to send the Frigate, a large vessel that players can board and explore. Inside, Raiders will need to navigate its passageways, unlock routes and fight Arc machines while competing with other players.Three new enemies will add different combat challenges. The Bully aggressively charges players and attacks with multiple weapons, while the Skulker stays out of sight before striking suddenly. The Hydra is a stationary three-part turret found on the Frigate that can engage entire squads with its three weapons.
Outpost brings new weapon upgrades
Players exploring Pendola Pass will gain access to the Outpost, a new Raider Den extension between the Rust Belt and the mountains. Players can customise it with modules and furniture, and it includes a Research Workstation for advanced weapon upgrades.The Amplified Weapons system adds a fifth quality level to 15 weapons. These upgrades can change how weapons behave, including a fully automatic Burletta, a scoped Renegade, and a Rattler with incendiary ammunition and a 64-round magazine.
New weapons and traversal tools
Frozen Trail adds the Stiletto, a light-ammo battle rifle designed as an early-game alternative to the Renegade, and the Bantam, a heavy-ammo revolver with a dedicated hip-fire capability.The Grappling Hook lets you reach high places, jump down from buildings, and cross big gaps. The Tether Launcher connects two points with a wire, while the Yank Grenade pulls nearby enemies into its blast.The update also adds a camera with zoom, aperture, manual and automatic focus and a selfie mode. Photos will be saved to the Codex. Players can also use new Harmonica and Banjo instruments and customise weapons with Weapon Stencils.
New Reward Pass system
Frozen Trail introduces the Reward Pass, with Free, Premium and Legacy options. The Free Pass includes outfits, Raider Tokens, gameplay items and cosmetics, while the Premium Pass adds additional cosmetics, weapon stencils, hairstyles and tokens. The Legacy Pass combines existing Raider Decks so players can continue their previous progress.The update arrives on October 8, alongside new questlines, a Skill Tree rework and a new Map Condition. A developer Q&A livestream is scheduled for September 25 at 6 pm CEST.
